Finally free!

The Easter message is a message of redemption. Breaking free from slavery, or whatever holds you captive.

For the Israelites, deliverance meant breaking free from Egypt and relying completely on God for their future.

But breaking free was not an easy step, since the enemy wasn't about to let them go. God had to do some powerful miracles to get Pharaoh to release his people.

I am grateful that God never gives up, but does everything to set us free. His plan for our lives has long been decided (Jeremiah 29:11), and nothing can change that.

The last act of God to redeem His people was to put the blood of a lamb on the doorposts and lintel of the houses. The only way that salvation could come, was through the blood.

For us Christians, the Easter message points to a greater reality. In the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, God made the perfect sacrifice of which John proclaimed: “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29).

Jesus became the sacrificial lamb that was offered once and for all for the remission of our sins.

Hebrews 9:11-12 "But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place. once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

Blood means life. It is responsible for transporting everything our body needs, especially oxygen. But the blood that flows through our veins cannot cleanse our souls. It cannot change our sinful nature.

Only the blood of Jesus can do that! In Matthew 26:28 when Jesus took the cup, He said, For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

1John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

Walking in the light means walking in freedom.

The freedom God offers us is an eternal freedom that takes place within us, bringing rest and peace.

It is a freedom that cannot be influenced by circumstances, but is rooted in faith, in Jesus, the son of God.

It is a freedom that the world cannot take away. It didn't come from here, so it can't be taken from us.

It was Jesus who said in John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.…”

What Jesus is saying is that the peace He gives is not the same as that of the World. His peace is independent of the World. His peace is an inner peace that lasts despite what is happening in the world!

That is good news! Liberating news!

Deliverance from bondage was made possible by the blood of the Passover lamb. Only the blood could bring deliverance.

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

John 8:36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Let's walk in this freedom today. Let's walk with Jesus!
