Isaiah 42:9 "See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”

Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

A word from God to His people who were captive in Babylon. A word that spoke of Israel's future restoration. An encouragement of better times to come.

God spoke of a future that would be realized in Jesus. He spoke to the people through His prophets, encouraging them with promises of a better life!

“I announce new things to you…” He said!
“I'm starting something new!”
“You can already see it!”
“Before they sprout I will reveal them to you!”

In the midst of a bad situation, God began to encourage His people that it would not last forever, for He had a plan!

Especially if you are in a difficult situation. Perhaps one that you yourself have been responsible for, then you don't expect to hear from God!

But that's just the time when He begins to speak to you with encouragement for a better life, for He has a plan!

And the very first thing He wants is for you to let go of the past… So don't look back to what was, but look forward to what will be… “Don't dwell on the old, don't cling to the past.” he said. Doesn't that sound like good advice?

Keep an eye out for the new things He wants to do in your life. To the next step He has for you!
