Rise up in the power of God's Spirit!

We live in a time where we have to stand up in the power of God's Spirit. The true church is not to be seen as an institution of religion, but as one of power!

Since the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, we have had a number of experiences where the power of God's Spirit has brought about changes. And every time it happened, it was powerful enough to change people's lives, and even society.

Whether it was the AZUSA street revival with William Seymour in 1906 or even the Charismatic movement from the year 1960. Every movement had its origin in the power of the Holy Spirit!

Georgette and I experienced the Charismatic movement first hand. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit completely changed our lives and made it possible for us to serve God.

For us it was not a short lived experience, but a life changing one that has defined our lives to this day!

I wouldn't want to do without the power of God's Spirit! This power made it possible for the disciples to reach the world with the gospel!

Acts1,8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

To the ends of the Earth!

Today I ask myself where this power has gone? Where are people still speaking in tongues? Where do the gifts of the Spirit still play a role today?

One of the biggest reasons the body of Christ has not made a greater impact on our generation today is because we don't have much to do with the gifts of the Holy Spirit any more.

The power God poured out opened the door to the gifts of His Spirit. Nine possibilities to supernaturally influence the world around you.

Gifts where the Spirit reveals things to us, for example.

In John 16,13 we read: "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

He, the Spirit of Truth, knows what's going to happen and wants to let us know, but if we don't expect to hear from Him, or if we don't reach out to hear from Him, we're no better off than the rest of the world.

And then when a crisis comes, we have no spiritual understanding of what is happening. We can only listen to the World, but offer no solution.

That is why I believe that God is using the current situation to speak to us and make it clear that without His power the church can't have a major impact.

Last year, when I heard the Lord say, “That the celebration of Pentecost would mark a turning point in the Church, and her understanding of the power she had been given, it was immediately clear to me that we had to return to this power.

Pentecost saw the church rise up in power and dominion. God is calling us to declare a reversal of our present situation and to exercise His divine power and rule.

He challenges us to reflect on our current position and make the necessary changes that identify us as His people. I see a church doing the works of Jesus!

In Acts 2,43 it says: "Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.

It is time for the world to stand in awe of God.

I believe God is looking for a generation who can interpret the dreams of Kings and rulers as Daniel and Joseph did.

A generation that understands economic affairs and can assist leaders of Nation with divine counsel.

A generation that is asked to pray for leaders in high positions, pronouncing not only God's blessing, but His plan for their lives.

A generation that's not driven back by a storm, but uses the storm to cross over in order to fulfill their mission.
