A Year of Restitution!

In September was the beginning of the Jewish New Year 5783

As you know the Hebrew alphabet is made up of symbols with a numeric value.
The most important number that will determine the year we are presently in, is the number 3, the letter Gimel. The word "gimel" is derived from the word "gemul", which amongst other things means restitution.

When God announces that we are in a year of restitution, I look forward to seeing how that will affect my life.

Where do I want to see healing or recovery, payback or restitution? Then I must go proclaim these things.

We've all had to suffer under circumstances that weren't fun. We have been hurt and experienced the sense of loss.

Some situations can occupy our thoughts for years. We are angry, upset and frustrated. We talk about it and try to process the situation. But above all, we desire restitution.

And we have to fight for that. Proverbs 6,31 clearly states that if the thief is caught, he must pay back what he stole seven times.

What we often forget is that “our battle is not against men, but against the princes of heaven, the rulers and rulers of darkness, against the evil spirits in the heavenly spheres.” Ephesians 6,12

Of course we are angry at what has been done to us, but that will not get us anywhere. We must go after the culprit and demand restitution!

And the culprit is the thief, the devil who is happy when we blame man instead of him.

He wants us to believe that man was guilty and that we will become embittered and no longer a danger to him.

It's time we realize he's the thief and catch him! For I hear God say: Go to the enemy's camp and recover what he stole.

That was also the answer David received when he returned to Ziklag and saw that the enemy had plundered everything and even taken the women and children.

While serving the Lord, he and his fellow warriors were robbed by the enemy. Their first reaction was whining, crying and bitterness. (1 Samuel 30)

But David sought the Lord and was plainly told to go after the enemy. By the end of the story, they had not only regained everything they had lost, but much more.

1 Samuel 30,18 “David took from the Amalekites everything they had stolen; he also freed his two wives. Not the slightest bit of the booty was missing: all the children were still there, and everything else they had taken with them.

Everything was brought back by David. He confiscated their sheep, goats, and cattle; who were taken before their own cattle. "This is David's spoil," they said.

It's time to take back what the enemy took from us and more!

Is it your calling for the Kingdom?
Then take it back!

Is it your Family?
Then take it back!

Is it your health?
Then take it back!

Is it your Finances?
Then take it back!

Is it your job?
Then take it back!

For “No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
Isaiah 54:17

This is the will of the Lord for our lives!
