A new opportunity...

I believe we are in a time where we are going to be newly positioned.

Sometimes a violent shaking is needed to get us out of our routine. The place where we expect to find everything and where not much faith is required.

I have a feeling that God wants us to be ready for what's about to happen, and that we'll have the opportunity to do things differently.

Every time you shuffle a deck of cards, there's another chance you'll get a winning hand. Every shuffle brings new possibilities. Every crisis brings change.

I am convinced that God has given us a winning hand that we will play out in this time.

Change doesn't always have to be bad. Although the situation that leads to change is not always pleasant, the change itself usually brings a new dynamic.

The biggest challenge is to accept the new and let go of the old. It was the same with us when we came to know Jesus and became one with Him. één met Hem werden.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

It is understandable that the new does not go hand in hand with the old. Jesus also made this clear in Matthew 9,17 where He said that new wine must be put into new wineskins so that both are preserved.

We live in a different world today. A lot has happened in the past year and a half. The shaking that we have experienced and are still experiencing has created a different situation.

This one does not allow us to return to our old life, and perhaps this is good so.

We need new wine. New wine is associated with the Holy Spirit. As it is written in Ephesians 5:18 "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;"

When the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit, some people thought they were drunk, but Peter made it clear to them that they were filled with the Holy Spirit.

This was now a whole new experience! Suddenly they had changed! When God starts to shake things up, you can count on change!

Fishing was no longer thought of! None of the disciples would ever return to their old lives.

Even when they faced adversity and were instructed by religious leaders not to talk about Jesus to anyone, they began to pray. Acts 4:29-31 says:“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus."

31"And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness..”

Every time God makes it shake, we can expect huge changes. An extra portion of boldness for example, or a change in your daily routine to where even signs and wonders can happen!
